The Rose City of Petra

The World Heritage Centre of Petra is believed to have been settled as early as 9,000 BC as the capital city of the Nabataean Kingdom. These nomadic Arabs established Petra as a major regional trading center, along the important trade routes from Arabia, Egypt, and Syria. One of the most compelling archaeological sites in existence this lost treasure remained hidden from western eyes until 1812.
